Approximately 80 percent of Indian students who pursued medical education abroad face the challenge of clearing the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), a screening test administered by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. The latest results from the December 2023 exam reveal a pass rate of only 20.57 percent.Out of the 38,535 individuals who applied for the exam, a staggering 30,046 did not pass, and 1,386 abstained from taking the test. Despite these numbers, it is worth noting a notable improvement compared to the previous June exam, where a mere 10.2 percent successfully passed. This signifies a significant increase in the success rate, indicating a positive trend for those attempting the FMGE.
